How much does adderall cost without insurance? Anyone know what a month of 10mg Adderall costs? My insurance company won’t approve it and suggested Modafinil instead. The last time I got Modafinil it said it would have been $1100 w/out insurance. I thought Adderall was cheaper. Why would they recommend the more expensive one?
I recommend Modafinil due to less side effects. Provigil & it's generic Modafinil price per pill in the United States is about $20-25 per pill, 100mg. Most insurance won't cover your entire prescription. This is due to cephalon, the maker of provigil. They pay non us companies that make Modafinil to stay away from the US market, and pay lobbyists and essentially pay lawmakers to keep this Modafinil out of the US market. They hold the price for provigil & Modafinil so high, insurance won't cover all the cost. They want people to take nuvigil instead, because the patent for that one is still on. So cephalon pushes nuvigil to doctors, insurance won't cover provigil and they block Modafinil from other countries. It's illegal to import it, and it's price at NeoModafinil is between .65 cents to one dollar. And you Don't even need a prescription, it's over the counter. Provigil /Modafinil is the only thing that helps me, but I have no option but to take nuvigil & caffeine. I can't take the side effects of ritalin & Adderall is addictive. I don't even want to try xrem, I am afraid of the side effects.
Adderall -- Without insurance at Walmart - 20mg was running me $75. At Sam's Club about $45.
I was supposed to be prescribed modafinil as well, but my insurance would not cover it. Pharmicist informed me that it would cost almost $600. So I just stick to low amounts of caffeine. I think its safer anyway.
I pay for 60 30mg adderall a month and pay 45$$
FYI: if you get a 3 month supply (must be approved by your doctor) you will save money. But you will have to pay the entire amount upon picking your 3 month supply (you can’t pick up 1 month at a time and get the saving).
Use GoodRX to check prices. Modafinil was over $700 at Walmart without insurance, $287 with insurance. Modafinil $35 cost at Costco without insurance, $15 with insurance. It pays to shop around!
I get 60 20mg at CVS for about $50. Give or take a few dollars depending on what city. I have insurance but the required visit to the specialist for them to give the prior authorization costs more than paying cash.
In the US both are actually FDA approved fir N.
I can't remember all the specifics, but awhile back I read an article that said once the patent ended on a brand name med, pharmaceutical companies started making deals with insurance so the insurance will push the brand over the generic. I couldn't find the exact article, but this one talks about the same thing.
Even generic Adderall will run around $90 for XR at private owned pharmacies. Adderall short release isn't too bad if they could do that for you it's around $20-30at a private owned pharmacy. If u r paying out of pocket, no insurance, u should use a private owned pharmacy for cheaper prices.
$68 for 20 mg at walgreens with good rx is the cheapest i have found. my insurance will only pay for brand name and it's over $200 a month.
About 6 years ago I had to buy Adderall myself because of no insurance. I had to take it 3x a day to get some type of relief. Worked about 1/2 as well as provigil but better than nothing. I found a coupon online that made it like $30 a month...Walgreens was made because it made it cheaper than what they paid for it! I may still have the online voucher. If you need it pm me.
Modafinil is approved specifically for narcolepsy. Theyre going to try you on modafinil and armodafinil before trying you on adderall or Ritalin because the first two are specifically for PWN whereas the other two are usually more for add/adhd..
I paid $850ish for my 20 mg instant release which I get 60 of. And $250 for my 20 mg XR I get 30. There’s these RX coupon app. Good RX or something and I get my meds filled at Walmart and they honored the coupons so I only paid $750 for both total using the coupons
I got generic adderall I take two 10mg twice a day. I had it filled the other day and didn't run it through my insurance. It was $36
Just because I got it refilled early insurance didn't want to pay yet but was leaving for vacation.
Also I work at a hospital and when we get Rx filled there we get a little discount
if the adderall feels like its not doing it's job taking a teaspoon of baking soda in water about 45 minutes before the adderall , it helps keep the stomach acid from destroying the majority of it, so more reaches the small intestine
he manufacturer has a coupon, first script is free then 5.00. Mine would have been 70.00 with my insurance,... the bag always says 627.00!!! Go to the manufacturer website and call the helpdesk if u have questions
They do strange things. Mine is $1300 without insurance, Modafinil. Trust me , there's trying to save money somehow
