Guys did you find any different between modafinil and adrafinil?

Just a few quick pointers:
Adrafinil is the prodrug for Modafinil that gets synthesized in the body. Because of this the byproduct that gets passed out in urine is excessive sulfur molecules. Therefore it usually takes more of it compared to modafinil to reach the same effect. For example, roughly speaking, 600 milligrams to 700 milligrams approximately equates to a 200 milligram dose of modafinil, depending on one's metabolism of course. In addition to that, due to that metabolic reaction, in my opinion, Adrafinil is not as good quality as the purer modafinil. Of course, these are just my experiences and my info should not be taken as official medical advise. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. , I've been taking adrafinil for about a year (every two to three months I cycle off for a full month) and it works fine, but of course I'd rather take modafinil. The best quality modafinil is available at Neomodafinil . If you do start taking it, I suggest start including also milk thistle with it to help alleviate the workload on your liver. Definitely helps my focus and energy levels.

Adrafinil to me is tougher to get the correct dosage right, even with measuring. On a related note, I've used flmodafinil since it can be bought legally in the US, but noticed more anxiousness and a few other things that make me like regular moda better. However, for price and simplicity, I'll probably just experiment with flmoda more.

The effects dud not seem quite as pronounced when I first tried adrafinil. Maybe like a reduced dose of modafinil. After using it faithfully for a while, I tried modafinil again, and it really didn't seem to work any better for differently.

Adrafinil is not as effective as modafinil since it needs to be metabolized in the liver into modafinil resulting in a lot of it being destroyed by the liver phases. I've tried it, its like a super jacked up version of caffeine to me with less of the jitter. And I think that caffeine is no doubt one of the best nootropics out there
Richard
Had similar experiences to everyone else with Adrafinil. Nice amount of energy, but nothing like the purported effectiveness of Modafinil, especially the ability to disregard a couple of sleep cycles.
John
I have tried adrafinil it worked good for me and I have modafinil on the way.. I feel like everyone and their grandma has ADHD nowadays hah
Cyndre
Adrafinil has roughly 1/3 of the potency of Modafinil. Just a matter of metabolism, and you dont want to take more than 600mg because of the load on the liver.

i get nothing at all from Adrafinil and did at least a gram today. That should do it and it dud nothing That much modafinil 300 or more mgs would really knock me hard. when i cycle back to modafinil i always do 50mgs just to ease back in i get to 200 real fast though. I deffinetly know what it feels like just none of that at all from adrafinil. I was gonna order more modvigil soon anyway the adrafinil was just out of curiosity.

I've tried it for about a week now and it has become one of my favorites so far. It's definitely worth trying IMO. But if you have the money, I'd just go straight to modafinil. On a per serving basis, they cost almost the same anyway. I like the effects that adrafinil gives, I feel more "in the zone," more motivated, and reduced the feeling of tiredness substantially even if I don't have much sleep at all. The thing I don't like about it though is that, for me, I have to redose every three hours or so at 200-300 mg to maintain its effects. I don't think it lasts as long as modafinil... But I noticed that it works a LOT better on an empty stomach. Also, it's pretty good, IMO stacked with other noots like piracetam.

I've tried both and Adrafinil gives me all the same effects with much lower price tag. While there is the matter of liver toxicity, if you do not plan on using it every day and you supplement with a lot of anti-oxidants regularly, the risk of liver damage is extremely extremely low according to the research i've read
Patric
If you're in America you can get the latter legally without prescription. The latter requires higher doses because the endogenous conversion rate isn't perfect. If you can get modafinil just use that.
Adam
Adrafinil ~=modafinil. You have to wait a bit after taking it as it is a prodrug to modafinil. Essentially your liver processes adrafinil and modafinil is the bi product.

I only use adrafinil occasionally. For example: this last Thursday I had to drive 3.5 hours then attend a workshop for 8 hours then drive 1.5 hours more to where I was staying. I took 300mg adrafinil that morning. Didn't take it the next two days, then took it at lunchtime on Sunday for the last half of the day at the workshop, and the 3 hour drive home.
I take cytogreens usually 4-6 days a week already (has some milk thistle) along with plenty of nutrients anyways. Coffee is a liver tonic too. It would be a good idea to build some liver support into your lifestyle, even if you don't take adrafinil.

Adrafinil is the pro drug to modafinil meaning after 30-45 mins it will metabolize into modafinil in ur body.
Also while it is a stimulant, it's not like adderral where ur mind is racing. The effects are more subtle. If you have a task at hand you will be able to better focus and not have mental fatigue for hours.
Prolonged use can cause liver issue, but it shouldn't be an issue as long as u are not using it everyday.
Franz
Like all pro-drugs, adrafinil produces more degradation products than modafinil, so it is more liver toxic. Even short term use can cause a problem. I would never recommend it for daily consumption.

Adrafinil didnt do much for me plus its suppose to be liver toxic so if one wants a substance that they want to use more regularly then id avoid adrafinil. Armodafinil works but not keen on it, hard to explain, feels roughing??? Out of the 3 modafinil i think is the best and keep doses low 50 to 100mg. I think peoples expectations initially are alot high and think its going to hype them up. For me it feels like it turns on more of my brain especially if down on sleep.
Mike
Decently comparable. As previously stated it takes approximately 45 minutes to convert into modafanil. Might stack with milkthistle to help avoid liver toxicity.

You'll need about 3x as much Adrafinil as Modafinil to get a similar effect. As for R-Modafinil, it will last >10 hours, whereas Adrafinil is more like 5. Modafinil is a bit of both, in terms of effects.Armodafinil isn't a derivative though. It's just only one of the stereo-isomers (mirror image, in this case) of Modafinil. Racemic (equally mixed) Modafinil consists of S-Modafinil and R-Modafinil. They both affect the body differently because our enzymes/proteins are usually biased towards one of them. In this case, R-Modafinil lasts longer than S-Modafinil.

Adra takes a while to come on and doesn't feel as strong, but they are similar

I seem not to tolerate modafinil unable to tolerate 100mg. Never tried the other. Bums me out too cause I hear such great response from other people’s report too. And I would benefit greatly with my daily struggles as I have struggled with ADD all my life. Modafinil gives me relentless headaches even with alpha GPC choline and plenty of water. It also makes me drowsy, watery eyes, and gives me brain fog. Quite the opposite of the desired effects. I have tried spacing them days apart as well. Best I can tolerate is 50mg twice a week but even then seems to only give me minimal alertness and motivation the headaches are less (tolerable) but jeez the effects are less too so... sucks for me. :(
