Bromantane side-effects ? Dosage ? (50-100 mg ?) What about : "Three studies have tied bromantane to potential long term side effects including birth defects and aiding the development of Alzheimer’s disease." ? Thanks

Eduardo
Galantamine a commonly prescribed substance for the alzheimer disease, has some studies that shows some potential side effects, see wikipedia for more detailed information. The point is that so many substances that looks safe in the first years or decades, later shows unexpected side effects that where "invisible" for the first safety studies. That thing happens with FDA approved drugs. Thats why tons of research is needed for knowing the "completely" safety profile of a drug. If that things happens with FDA approved drugs, what we can expect from drugs recently approved or drugs approved only in some countries like Russia?... That's why I think that a use of nootropics drugs needs the use of other drugs and supplements for health and longevity, or at least exercise, if we want to improve our "mind" capacity we need to enhance and improve our health for trying to reduce unexpected side effects.

Thanks for the reply , Eduardo. I fully agree with you. Safety is the first thing to keep in mind. It would not make sense to use substances that provide good effects in the short term, but problems in the future. In fact I always tried to rely on substances studied enough and that do not leave leaked anything negative. Certainly useful to try to address decreasing side effects through physical training and a regular life. I think they are essential conditions to achieve good results in this area. I also think it is essential, as well as trusted substance use and physical training, the mental training (scientifically proven), in order to boost and stabilize any positive effects. The greatest benefit cognitively I've reached, are almost always obtained through mental training. Coming back to the initial post, it seems, despite not having read the study, and in spite of many users suggest it, bromantane, if it was true what I read, it would be definitely one of the substances, with good probability, to be excluded from the list of substances to be tested, it is not permissible to risk of developing Alzhemeir just to be a little bit more stimulated. Thank you.

I will read the study... my only poison is alcohol, I do not smoke... just alcohol... but I try to compensate the damage with exercise, fasting every some time, DNA repair with uncaria tormentosa (cats claw, uña de gato), lots of green tea, resveratrol, alcar, Nrf2 inducers with alcohol intake like milk thistle, powerful mitochondrial antioxidants like c60 (MitoQ apparently is better), curcumin is good also, quercetin. I also take methylene blue regularly.
Michael
I also do not smoke, and very rarely drink alcohol(But , I used drugs in the past , for 2 ys - 2009-2011). In the end, I think this also, if controlled, is not a big issue(alcohol). In essence, the meaning of our existence, the target that almost everyone is trying to achieve is happiness. We use nootropics to improve our lives and then be happier etc, the same reason why some times alcohol can change perceptions to lead us moments better, than the reality could deliver. So in the end, it's hard to rationalize on how mistaken drinking can be. I think therefore that if controlled is nothing extremely worrying. You are absolutely right also try to correct costs of this happiness,In many use alcohol but just few seek remedy, at least you're aware of that and try to redress the balance. I did not know the uncaria tomentosa, I'll search more info on reddit. Thanks
Eduardo
If you have the money go for MitoQ... for alzheimer prevention: Methylene blue, Fasting, Centrophenoxine, Noopept, Curcumin (liposomal is the better form)... I don't remember other things for now... but with that things you can prevent the possible risks of bromantane with a good chance.
Michael
After what I have read about bromantane I am no longer sure to try it. Thank you very much for the advice about the preventions of alzheimer, I've never tried the Curcumin , but from time I read the benefits. I think it might also be useful to increase the values of the main Neurotrophins, perhaps they could also be useful in preventing the formation of beta amyloid etc. I'm going to send you a document about neurotrophins that in my opinion could be very useful.
